Aims and Objectives of BHTPSC
The BHTP is “A Park for the people of Carndonagh, managed and maintained by the people of Carndonagh, in conjunction with Donegal County Council”. The simple aim and main focus of this plan is to increase public enjoyment and use of the BHTP.
Our vision is: “To manage the park in the best way possible, respecting and enhancing the environment, local biodiversity and wildlife, while allowing for recreational and educational activities to take place in a safe and secure environment, enriching the lives of the visitors.” This is a vision in which a wide diversity of community organizations works together so that visitors feel welcome and safe and can enjoy the park, its attractions and recreational facilities. The BHTP is a special place and contributes in many ways to the overall vision for the wider Carndonagh community.
The BHTP is a beacon of good partnership working to provide a valued asset to the surrounding community, offering opportunity to learn and providing accessible recreation facilities for all ages and all levels of mobility. The BHTPSC represents the needs of the local community and assists DCC with the maintenance, management and organizing of events within the BHTP. Donegal County Council will work in partnership with the BHTPSC to ensure the following aims are met.
The Barrack Hill Town Park Steering Committee is an active community group made up of community volunteers who help with the management, maintenance and activities taking place within the BHTP. The BHTP is a community park for the people of Carndonagh and north Inishowen.
